Valencia CF pay tribute to former player Cristiano Piccini
The former Italian footballer was Copa del Rey champion in 2019 with the Valencia CF side
Valencia CF welcomed the visit of former player Cristiano Piccini. The Florence-born defender played 65 matches with the Club (between 2018/19 and 2021/22), in which he scored two goals, provided one assist and won the Copa del Rey title in 2019.
“It has been very emotional, the tribute. I am very grateful for having had the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans, of what has been my home. Valencia CF is the club of my life,” described Piccini.
The General Director – Javier Solís – and the Club legends and ambassadors – Ricardo Arias and Miguel Tendillo – welcomed the former Italian player and presented him with a personalized jersey with his name and the number ‘21’ – the number with which he won the Copa del Rey in 2019.
“As a player I felt very fortunate to wear this jersey. It is something I have not found again in my career, the fact of wearing a jersey with pride, feeling it as yours and truly wanting to defend it. Valencia is my home and I have always said it,” stated the former Valencia CF player.
